What is an MOT Test?

An MOT test is primarily a road safety measure introduced by the Ministry of Transport as a means of ensuring that all vehicles on the road, which are over 4 years old, are road worthy, properly maintained and meet the minimum safety and environmental standards.

If you have a vehicle that is three or more years old, you are legally required to have an MOT test undertaken annually.

What is covered in an MOT Test?

An MOT test covers a wide variety of components on your vehicle, such as lamps, indicators, steering, suspension, brakes, tyres, wheels, seatbelts, windscreen, washers and wipers, exhausts, emissions, mirrors, bodywork and many more.
