Sophisticated and extremely fast, the head-turning Lotus Evora 400 is a force to be reckoned with. The car is lighter and more powerful than ever, and is equally at home on the road as it is on the race track.
The Evora 400’s front fascia features larger grilles than appeared before. This helps provide the car with its forceful demeanour, and delivers even more air into its intercooler. This two-door sports coupé boasts dramatic good looks, from the aforementioned front fascia to a three-part rear wing. It also comes with time-saving fixtures that include power-adjustable, folding and heated door mirrors. Also featured as standard are expansive diamond-shaped bi-Xenon headlamps and LED daytime running lights.
An all-new cockpit features supremely lightweight yet supportive and comfortable sports seats. There are two seats in the back too, one of which is fitted with ISOFIX attachments – ideal for those times when a younger passenger needs to travel with you. What’s more, each seat can be heated, and therefore provide welcome comfort on colder days. Air conditioning comes as standard too, making it easy to establish your ideal in-cabin temperature. Among the vehicle’s wide range of stylish features is a leather-clad steering wheel.
The Evora 400 is powered by a 3.5-litre 395bhp petrol engine, which is mated to a sports ratio six-speed manual gearbox that provides the driver with enhanced control. (Six-speed automatic transmission is available as an option.) This V6 unit delivers a peak torque of 410Nm, 0-60mph in a little over four seconds and a breathtaking top speed of 186mph (on the race track, of course).
Audio entertainment is provided by a four-speaker stereo system, while planning each journey is a breeze thanks to the inclusion of a satellite navigation system.
The Evora 400 is extremely well-built and offers plenty of protection to its occupants with, for example, an extruded and bonded chassis that is made from lightweight aluminium. The vehicle comes with three selectable drive modes: Drive, Sport and Race, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your motoring style. Another standard inclusion is Torsen-type Limited Slip Differential, which prevents too much power being diverted to any one wheel, thus optimising traction. Electronic Stability Programme, which detects and minimises skidding, also features, as does a rear sensor and reversing camera, which provides invaluable parking assistance.
